Another Five Star Accolade for Blackenbrook Pinot Gris

Nelson — A personal passion for Pinot Gris has netted Blackenbrook Vineyard in Tasman, near Nelson, its fourth year running of top awards, with a five star rating in New Zealand’s premier wine guide – Michael Cooper’s Buyers Guide.  Family owned and run Blackenbrook was one of the first vineyards in the Nelson region to plant Pinot Gris in 2001.

Rural water restrictions lifted

Nelson — As a result of the steady rain received yesterday Nelson City Council has lifted the water restrictions that had been in place for those taking water directly from streams and wells in the following catchment areas: Whangamoa River and tributaries Wakapuaka River downstream of the Teal Confluence Teal River Oldham Creek Poorman Valley Stream River levels in these areas are now above the minimum flows but still low.
