Philina den Dulk is a full time modern artist based in South Otago who is passionate about sharing her inspiration and love for painting with the world.  Philina works mostly in acrylics and enjoys the challenges working with various textures, she also has an interest in exploring the use of visual language in artworks.

She often finds that challenging herself is important, and she likes to achieve this by incorporating new ideas while developing her unique style in each artwork.
Philina’s addiction for texture can be seen in many of her artworks, which feature so much of her uniqueness.

Philina is an artist who wants to bring joy to those who love her art, and wants art lovers to reach out and touch, to not be afraid to run their hands over the canvas and feel the paintings textures. She is a well exhibited artist throughout New Zealand and this is exemplified in her impressive portfolio. Her colours and textures are such that they are compatible with most decors and her almost vintage/modern contemporary themes that run through her work accentuate the surroundings of both a newer or older home.

Her collection of works, titled “Field of Dreams” is inspired by her belief that memories from the past or present are all influential and inspirational and with this exhibition she has created a story that can be related to by many.

Rachael Inch comments “These works are quite exciting as they are showcasing the current trends in fashionable art pieces and they are finished to a high standard which makes them desirable for everyone. Philina has four small children and yet still manages to continue her successes in her art career, she will be travelling from Otago for the exhibition opening and I recommend that anyone who has an interest in mixed media come along and meet her in person.”

The Launch of “Field of Dreams” is set for Thursday 6th September 2012 at Terrace Downs in the Hunters dining room. The launch will begin at 6:30pm, seated by 7pm for a delicious buffet prepared by the resorts top chefs. The evening of entertainment will be complimented by the smooth sounds of Kris Trousselot on the Baby Grand Piano. The opening nights are well received by many and as the popularity has grown it is essential that bookings are made prior.
