New Zealand’s largest photography event and a highlight of Auckland’s arts calendar, the 8th annual Auckland Festival of Photography has more than 100 free exhibitions and events from Matakana to Pukehohe.
There is a jam-packed programme of international artists, established Kiwi artists and emerging new talent presented in the Signature and Fringe programmes.

Talking Culture Symposium
4 June, 10.30am-4pm
Aotea Centre, THE EDGE
This year’s symposium focuses on the topic of conflict photography. It is a one-off event that is sure to raise some critical debate around photography's role in responding to conflict, from civil unrest to war.
Gravity Festival Tuesday
7 June, 6pm-9pm
Grab a free lift to visit nine exhibitions in central Auckland. Simply turn up at any of the venues, check out the exhibition and then look for the drop-off/pick-up point to catch a free ride to the next exhibition.
Nikon Auckland Photo Day
11 June, midnight to midnight
Across Auckland
A 24-hour competition for photographers to capture Auckland in a single day. Groups, individuals, families, children - anyone with access to a camera is encouraged to submit the scenes, people and places that reflect their Auckland.
