The annual New Zealand International Film Festival continues to be the premier film event of the year and the cultural highlight of winter. It brings an impressive array of the latest and best films from all over the world to Auckland.
The line-up features more than 130 films, including key titles from the Cannes and Sundance film festivals.
All films, other than designated retrospectives, are New Zealand premieres (a key requirement for films in the programme), offering audiences their first-ever opportunity to taste a cinematic smorgasbord of titles not confined to the mainstream.
A rich and varied programme of international and homegrown features and documentaries, as well as key retrospective presentations will be announced in full in late June.
The festival's retrospective programme is always hugely popular. This year, audiences will have the chance to enjoy Martin Scorsese's gritty Taxi Driver in all its glory on 35mm film on the giant CinemaScope screens at The Civic.
Auckland programmes will be available from Wednesday 22 June and tickets on sale from Thursday 23 June.
