Every year we celebrate Auckland's heritage with a programme of more than 100 exciting, diverse and interactive events that showcase the diversity of our communities, landscape and history.
Auckland Heritage Festival 2011 will feature events from across the region, encouraging people of all ages to celebrate, embrace and learn about the unique social, cultural and built heritage of the Auckland region.
There is no other festival in Auckland that offers such a rich array of events. From volcanoes and islands to machines, animals and buildings, the stories of Auckland amaze and astound locals and visitors alike.
Over the years, the festival programme has featured events such as guided heritage walks and open days, tours of historic sites and villages, vintage fashion displays, heritage market days, film screenings about the world wars, Victorian architecture photo lectures and many more activities that tell fascinating stories of our past.
