A free seminar focusing on workplace and community health and safety will be held at Owen Delany Park on Tuesday 10 November from 9.00am.
The seminar is part of a series put on by ACC and local authorities entitled “Health and Safety – Everyone’s Business” and is run in conjunction with Taupo District Council. Taupo is one of four towns in the Waikato/BOP area to host the seminar, along with Rotorua, Tauranga, and Hamilton.
Taupo District Council Health and Safety Advisor Ian Stretton says this is a fantastic opportunity for smaller businesses and the general public to sharpen their knowledge on health and safety issues, meet and network with others in the community who are involved in health & safety, or just to seek advice and information. “We will be challenging how injury occurs and looking at developing strategies to prevent injury & illness in the workplace and in the community.”
The seminars are not just for business owners however, as health & safety is ‘everyone’s business’. “Injury & illness occur everywhere, especially in the home, so we encourage anyone interested in this these issues to come along,” said Mr Stretton.
For more information on these free seminars and workshops, and to register please email safetyculture@acc.co.nz There is no charge for the seminars and workshops but we ask that you support one of the charities represented at registration with a gold coin donation. |
