A small stretch of the Coastal Walkway will be closed on Monday (30 May) so that a strip of vegetation can be removed.
The flax and agapanthus running alongside the walkway from Tasman Towers to Weymouth Street will be taken out as they have grown too big for the site.
“Right now the plants are like a wall that cuts that bit of the walkway off from the sea, blocking any view of the Tasman,” says Manger Parks Mark Bruhn.
“By removing the flax and agapanthus we’ll be able to open up this part of the Coastal Walkway.”
The closure will be from 7.30am to 5.00pm on Monday. Heavy vehicles will be in the area so walkway users will need to detour onto St Aubyn and Hine streets.
