Botany Town Centre is stepping back in time, to when majestic dinosaurs roamed the earth, to host the New Zealand premiere of Walking With Dinosaurs: The Movie.

Premiere day, Sunday 15 December is set to be one for the ages, with an exhibition featuring activities that will impress even the most fanatical dinosaur fan. Both Town Square and Town Centre Drive will have a prehistoric makeover, with animatronic dinosaurs from Butterfly Creek settling in and making the centre their home for the event.

Walking with Dinosaurs will premiere at 2:00pm, but dino-themed activities will take place prior to that, from 10:30am – 2:30pm. Activities open to the public include a Dino Dig, thematic face painting, and a create-your-own-dinosaur activity centre. In addition, there will be roving characters in- centre, providing entertainment and photo opportunities for patrons.

The movie is tipped to give the most authentic dinosaur experience yet. Filmed in 3D, the dinosaurs appear true and realistic, allowing the audience a life-like sneak peak at planet Earth during the Jurassic era.

Botany Town Centre Senior Marketing Manager, Desiree Clark, says it is a privilege to host the Walking With Dinosaurs national premiere, and that it’s a great way to finish off a fantastic year.

“The Walking with Dinosaurs exhibition will be something unique for our shoppers to experience. It’s going to be a wonderful day for the entire community and we’ve got some fantastic activities planned for people of all ages. We’ve had a great year at Botany with a lot going on, so I couldn’t think of a better, or bigger, way to wrap up the year.”

Walking with Dinosaurs opens in New Zealand cinemas on January 1, 2014.
