Three of the country’s most celebrated comedians have announced a nationwide tour which aims to bring live comedy to heartland New Zealand.

Kiwi talents Dai Henwood, Ben Hurley and Vaughan King will kick-start their fresh-up Real NZ Comedy Tour in Taupo before taking to the stage in Whakatane, Nelson, Blenheim, Westport, Ashburton, Pukekohe and, Hastings.

In what promises to be a wild ride, the popular TV and stage comedians say they are looking forward to heading to some of New Zealand’s more provincial places.

“It’s getting back to the heart of what New Zealand is about – good times with good types who like having a laugh, says Henwood.

Hurley says performing gigs outside of the big cities is a really grounding experience and says regional audiences are particularly engaging.

“You get a straight-up response and they’re always the most fun,” he says.

Vaughan King says the tour provides a great opportunity to head back to some of his favourite Kiwi spots.

“I grew up all over the country, it’s great to get back on the road and see the best parts of New Zealand,” says King.

The brand manager for fresh-up, Brooke Bayliss-Browne says she’s excited to be sponsoring the comedy tour as it is the perfect fit given the fresh-up brand positioning is anchored around taking thirst seriously but never itself.

“Kiwis love a good laugh but often smaller centres don’t always get the big acts coming to town.  We’re very happy to be supporting a show bringing high caliber comedy to provincial New Zealand”

Tickets for the eight-show tour are on sale now from realnztour.co.nz
