Dennis Simpson, the Managing Director of Magnum Advertising & Design recently wrote about the the brand identity work his company did for kepa: The Advisers Institute, a new company formed from the merger of two large insurance dealer groups.

“Time was of the essence in a new project for the brand identity and naming of a new company formed from the merger of two well respected Insurance Dealer groups in Auckland. The principals of TNP and Ginger Group approached Magnum Advertising & Design to create their new brand. Tight deadlines were a prerequisite in the selection process for the new agency and Magnum was happy to take on the challenge.

“We swiftly put into place a three step Discovery, Brand Foundation and Creative process that had all the key stakeholders involved personally or via Skype to quickly come up to speed with the industry and the goals for the new business. It was important to find a connection point between the new brand and the 700 plus membership. There was the opportunity to create not only a new brand identity [name and look and feel] but one with strategic direction, grounded in insight on what makes the company offering unique in the market, what the members were looking for and the ultimate long term vision for the brand.

“The outcome,’ kepa: The Advisers’ Institute’ are professional management experts that partner with their members to provide solid support and training in insurance, mortgage and wealth management. The new name ‘kepa’ is contemporary and elastic and is grounded in the core brand proposition. The word Kepa is of Basque origin, the meaning is rock [solid, steady and dependable]. The business is about creating and managing dependable long term relationships.

“Magnum has rolled out the new brand creative and collateral for the company’s July 1 launch date in less than a month.”

Dennis and the Magnum team worked with all parties to create vision, values and a single unifying positioning concept to arrive at the outcome desired by all concerned. Every member of the Magnum team brings something special to the service they offer, and they fit together to solve the puzzles that may be holding a brand back. They also complement the skills within their client’s team, so that they feel like an extension of their client’s marketing department.
