Gladiator Marine and Fishing Pro are in the process of a substantial refit of their fishing vessels, installing some high-cost items, including a $21,000 generator, which runs all their 240 volt systems while they are at sea, in particular their Gyro Stabiliser The M843NW3 is small in size but not in heart,  equipped with all the time-tested features professional fishers have come to expect on a Northern Lights generator. The 843 also plays well with others and can be teamed up with a larger Northern Lights set. The 843 will shoulder the light load hours and let its big buddy take a rest. Since it only uses 0.62 gph of fuel at half load it is also kind on the wallet.

This little workhorse takes multi-tasking to a whole new level, providing clean, stable electricity out of one end and accessory driving horsepower out the other. With a touch of a button operators will have hydraulic power so there is no longer any need to start up that main engine just to run a deck winch. Clean inside and out, the M843NW3 meets the US EPA Tier III emission requirements. What more could you ask from a guy that is only two feet tall?

The Gladiator has also been fitted out with a new CruzPro control centre, with all new digital engine monitoring units, 9 in total, designed and built in New Zealand and exported worldwide, and the dash is now set on black carbon fibre which makes for better daylight viewing.

CruzPro manufactures a wide range of intelligent instruments, digital gauges, alarms and monitors designed for use in the marine and motor home/RV markets. Their product lines include engine gauges, fuel/fuel consumption and tankage gauges, electrical gauges, gas detectors, depth, speed and wind sensors and instruments, PC based Fishfinders and electronic accessories such as chain counters, NMEA combiners, digital clocks, bilge alarms, etc. Most CruzPro gauges work on both 12 and 24V batteries, have built-in user settable high and low alarms, and to insure a reliable long life in the harsh marine environment, CruzPro instruments, digital gauges and alarms are constructed using ABS plastic, stainless steel and brass hardware, solvent resistant gaskets and O-rings, Lexan brand polycarbonate and 3M adhesives.

Gladiator has also been fitted with an aluminium base for the Gyro as it produces so much force it needs to be secured really well to the hull. The aluminium base took two weeks to custom design and weighs 140KG. Sitting on the base is a cardboard full size mock-up of the Gyro which allows the crew to make sure it fits and they can get to all the servicing areas of the gyro.

With all these modifications, Gladiator Marine and Fishing Pro will be even more efficient than ever. For more information go to www.fishingpro.co.nz or www.gladiatormarine.co.nz .
