Arista of Rotorua is the ideal accommodation choice for the Crankworx Mountain Bike festival being held in Rotorua next March

The announcement that the world's biggest mountain festival, Crankworx, will be held in Rotorua for the next three years has been welcomed by leading Rotorua moteliers Mike and Annemarie Gallagher.

“This is very exciting news for Rotorua and recognises of the growth of mountain biking in this area,” Mike Gallagher said.

“The benefit to the local region and the economy of this event is going to be huge,” said Mike Gallagher.

Crankworx Rotorua brings with it the best mountain biking pro-athletes for competitions, concerts and culture.

Rotorua will be a part of the Pump Track series, with Speed and Style, Slopestyle, Downhill and Enduro events over the five days.

It is estimated that around 750 riders will take part in the five-day festival, of which 80 per cent are likely to be overseas riders from the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, Japan and Australia.

Crankworx will make its way to Rotorua from March 25-29, 2015 and Arista of Rotorua will be  among the accommodation choices for those participating or being a specatator at this prestigious event.

There will also be a raft of other events surrounding the festival for amateur and non-bikers, including a soon-to-be-announced music festival featuring top New Zealand artists.

Skyline's Mountain Bike Gravity Park will host the mountain biking events, with Eat Streat the second base of action for the music festival, prize-giving and competitions.

Run in conjunction with Canadian owners Crankworx Events Incorporated (CEI), the local festival operator and organiser will be not-for-profit company Mountain Bike Events Ltd, a public-private joint venture of Rotorua District Council, Skyline Rotorua and Tak Mutu.

Mr Mutu, event director and owner of Multi-Day Adventures and Mountain Bike Rotorua, said Crankworx was the best it got for mountain biking.

Located on Fenton St, Arista of Rotorua is in the hub of the accommodation sector in Rotorua and from this point most of the major attractions are well and truly within a driving distance.

“Arista of Rotorua is located only 500m away from the beautiful and adventurous Redwood forest. This makes us an idea base for a mountain bike stay,” says Mike Gallagher, co-proprietor of Arista Of Rotorua.

“Arista is delighted that the Crankworx event will be staged in Rotorua and it is certainly a big announcement,” Mike Gallagher said.

“All our rooms at Arista of Rotorua have a hot spa pool for resting tired muscles after a hard day on the bike,” he said.

“We also have a lockable sea container for great mountain bike service and we can offer a mini work shop with a vice for those small mountain bike repairs,” says Mike Gallagher.

Arista of Rotorua have built a custom made mountain bike hose down area. This is ideal for international travelers coming over and having their bikes spotless for customs on the way home.
