Clive Hair Clinics deliver unique solutions to stimulate hair growth. They have a non-drug approach, which means no side effects, and the results are proven. Clive Hair Clinics are the longest established hair loss treatment company in New Zealand, providing trusted service to their clients for over 50 years and are New Zealand owned and operated, and their consultants travel regularly to most major centres to consult with people concerned about hair loss. A core difference between their clinics and most other hair centres is that their treatments are non-drug and provide natural alternatives to the widely available prescription drugs which have an equally wide range of possible side effects.

To this end they have acquired vast experience in dealing with baldness and hair loss, which are generally caused by age, genetics, anxiety and hormones, but they stress there is no outright cure for any of these conditions. Once hair roots die, the body directs blood away from the scalp - because it is no longer needed to supply the nutrients. “Then instead,” jokes Trichologist Rory Plumridge, Managing Director of Clive Hair Clinics, “hair starts growing in all the places we don’t want it to”. The answer, he says, is to trick the body into keeping hair root active. The balding process can be controlled and dramatically slowed. Rory’s hirsute head belies his 72 years and is quite the advert for his method, a method, which he is keen to stress, is drug-free.
There are three key ingredients, one of which was discovered by accident during the Second World War in Japan. It comes from a shrub which grows at great altitudes in only a handful of locations around the globe, including Mount Fuji. The shrub has, for thousands of years, been used to treat wounds and was later synthesised to be tested on gerbils. The gerbils’ backs were shaved and small incisions made. Four of the main extracts of the shrub were applied. One of the extracts didn’t heal the skin but made the gerbils’ hair grow back thicker and stronger. Other non-drug ingredients work topically and can block up to 90% of the di-hydro-testosterone (DHT) messenger chemical - that turns off hair root cells production; and is the main cause of facial and body hair.

Bearing this in mind, the professional team at Clive Hair Clinics recognise that every person is unique and as such, each person suffers from their own personal hair loss dilemma. They consult with their clients to find out more about them personally and diagnose the causes or factors that may be causing or escalating their hair loss.
