MOTUEKA

A Motueka travel consultant is using a small town service ethic to create a competitive advantage in the growing cruise market, capturing the nation’s cruise customers and even parts of the international travel market.

Jason Kroupa owner/operator of House of Travel Motueka says the key to the multi-million dollar business' growth outside the region, is its local team of specialists who demonstrate a compelling level of customer service and travel expertise to potential customers.

In addition Kroupa says sales have been strong at a regional level with local demand for international travel also growing.

To accommodate the increasing number of store visitors and their need for information on international cruises the Kroupa says the store interior has undergone an extensive refit.

Kroupa says this has led to the creation of a more modern and informative experience for customers, and leads the way in rejuvenating the small town centre's business district.

He says the extensive upgrade reflects a commitment to the town, and Jason and his wife Linda say they remain dedicated to inspiring the Motueka community when it comes to travel adventures.

“It is important to us to invest in our community - we are only a small town of around 7500 people, but a lot of business-owners have been doing upgrades and refurbishments lately,” says Linda.

“It is making the town centre feel different, and I think it means residents feel like things are changing and getting more modern, which is great,” she says.

“We’ve created an environment where people want to plan their dream holidays,” says Linda. “Everyone has been coming in and loving the new look, and we are enjoying working in a more modern store. I think it represents all the key ideas House of Travel stands for - it’s innovative, inspiring and relevant.”
