What do a fleet of super high performance sports cars, one of New Zealand’s most successful businessmen and gastro-intestinal cancer have in common? The Turners Tauranga Super Car Show on Saturday 28 March.

To celebrate the recent move to a new purpose built site at 26 Hull Road, Turners’ Tauranga branch is giving away a car - a 2005 Honda Fit! People will also be able to view the only McLaren P1 in New Zealand plus there will be a sausage sizzle, games and an auction at 11am.

Be in to win a 2005 Honda Fit. The car has alloys and comes with a 12 month Mechanical Breakdown Insurance warranty. Simply visit the branch before Saturday 28 March at 11.55am, fill out the entry form and go in the draw to WIN A CAR! Terms and conditions apply. The draw will be made on Saturday 28 March at 12pm and you must be present to claim the prize.

Grant Baker is one of New Zealand’s most successful businessmen and owner of an enviable, multi-million dollar fleet of high-end Ferraris that would make Jeremy Clarkson fall to his knees. Last week, for the first time ever, a selection of Grant’s rare and beautiful Ferraris were on public display at the Turners Super Car Show on 21 March 2015, alongside a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT and a 2015 McLaren P1, the only one of its kind in New Zealand.

The free public event was held to raise awareness for the Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Institute (GICI), of which Grant Baker is chairman. Nearly 5,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with a Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer every year and half of these people will die within five years of diagnosis. Grant was one of the lucky survivors and his personal brush with GI cancer has made this a cause very close to his heart.

More Kiwis are diagnosed with a GI cancer than any other cancer, yet it is under-represented in funding for clinical research. The Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Institute seeks to raise awareness of GI cancers and to provide more patients with access to ground breaking, international clinical trials that could be the difference between life and death.

A special charity auction was also run as part of the Turners Super Car Show with all funds being donated to the Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Institute. The winner of the auction will receive an exclusive Hot Lap or three in a McLaren P1 (the only P1 in New Zealand) at Taupo Motorsport Park on Thursday 30 April 2015.
