New Zealand Training & Assessment Limited are Auckland’s specialist transport training provider, offering the best service when training new applicants. New Zealand Training & Assessment offer a discounted Taxi Package with a P. Endorsement, plus Area Knowledge certificate at $690 inclusive of GST, and applicants can save a further $69.00 if they book online. Anyone wanting to drive a vehicle carrying passengers for Hire or Reward, they must hold a P. Endorsement licence. If the vehicle is fitted with a taxi meter then the driver must hold an Area Knowledge Certificate for the area that the Taxi company operates in e.g. Auckland Metropolitan A/K certificate. It is illegal to drive a taxi without one.

To be eligible they must have held a full class 1 current licence for two or more years, get a DL9 medical (approx. $45.00), be able to pass a fit and proper persons check (Serious convictions may stop a person from holding a P. Endorsement licence licence) and a class 1 practical driving test may be required unless they have passed this test within the last 5 years.  AA or VTNZ charges apply.

New Zealand Training & Assessment offer a Heavy Truck licence (Class 2) for $678.50 incl. GST and can save a further $67.85 if they book online. As they are an NZTA approved course provider, applicants won’t have to wait six months from the time they sit their learner’s licence. To be eligible, applicants must have held a full class 1 licence for minimum of six months, a DL9 Medical from their GP.

Their Passenger Endorsement licence costs $445 incl. GST and applicants can save a further $44.50 if they book online. The Passenger Endorsement on a licence allows people to carry passengers for hire or reward.  It covers the Taxi, Bus, Private Hire and Dial a Driver services.

Bus Driver Training is provided at 1248-50 incl. GST and applicants can save a further $198-50 if they book online and pay only $1050-00 incl. GST. To become a Bus Driver, applicants need to complete the Passenger Endorsement Course, which allows them to carry passengers for Hire or Reward as well as the Class 2 course, which allows them to drive a vehicle up to 18,000kg. To be eligible applicants must have held a full class 1 current licence for two years or more, hold a DL9 Medical from their GP and be able to pass a fit and proper persons check.
