The new Health & Safety Act means that employers must take all reasonable steps to ensure their staff are safe when driving on behalf of the company, and it is their responsibility to make sure their staff are safe in all vehicles used for work. The Health & Safety at Work Act 2016 (HSAW) requires that officers and directors of the company must ensure the provision of any information, training, instruction, or supervision, that is necessary to protect all persons from risks to their health and safety arising from work carried out as part of the conduct of their business.

To this end, SharpDrive online driver training have priced their product so that all businesses can keep their drivers safe on the road, having just updated their pricing to be the lowest in the market, starting at just $3 per user per month as a monthly subscription. Their updated online Admin tools allow their clients to self-service, allowing them to keep the pricing low, and they remain the most comprehensive online driver training product on the market, and are now the lowest cost in class.

The new Health & Safety rules apply to anyone who drives for work, including commercial drivers. These are professional drivers whose vehicles are operating in a licensed transport service, e.g. truck, van, taxi, bus and emergency service. It also includes drivers of company-owned or pool vehicles including sales people and mobile service providers, and occasional drivers whose main jobs are not driving for the company but who may drive from time to time between offices using company-owned vehicles. The new Act also covers "own vehicle" drivers who have a car allowance or drive their own vehicle occasionally to travel for work.

SharpDrive is an engaging online driver training system that helps improve people’s knowledge of and attitude to driving, and the short, interactive programme is a proactive way that employers can help keep their business and their drivers safe.
