Gas main rupture

Ruptured Gas Main, Hingaia, Papakura District. Due to the rupture of a large gas main on Hingaia Road in the vicinity of the Papakura motorway interchange there will be a sustained period of traffic disruption in that vicinity. In particular traffic is unable to access the North bound onramp and is being diverted South to the Drury onramp. Likewise traffic exiting at Papakura and intending to travel West along Hingaia Road is being diverted South along Great South Road in order to cross over the motorway at Drury. Contractors at the scene advise that it will take some time to effect repairs to the gas main. Persons travelling to and from the locality are advised to seek alternative routes.
