New Zealand's world mountain running champion Jonathan Wyatt will compete in the Commonwealth mountain running championships in Keswick England in two weeks time.

Wyatt has been selected for the uphill race to be held on 18 September.

The six times world champion will join Glenn Hughes and James Coubrough who have already been selected for the uphill race.

Meanwhile Kimberley Smith has been selected to represent New Zealand at the world half marathon championships to be staged in Birmingham UK on 11 October.

Smith, who finished eighth in the 10,000m at the recent world athletic championships in Berlin, has not previously raced a half marathon internationally.

At this year's world cross country championships in Jordan in March Smith finished 13th and at the 2005 championships she was 12th.
