Mangere Bridge Playcentre will continue to provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment for its community of families thanks to the support of The Lion Foundation.

The Early Childhood facility is completing a renovation of its building, storage and play areas to ensure it meets Ministry of Education’s requirements and new regulations. A recent $10,000 grant from The Lion Foundation will assist with the upgrade.

The Lion Foundation Chief Executive Phil Holden says the charitable trust is proud to support Mangere Bridge Playcentre.

“There is strong support for the Playcentre, which provides an outstanding community service. We are proud to assist with the upgrade of its facilities, and ultimately support the children and families who enjoy the education and fun on offer.”

Operating for over 20 years and one of the country’s most widely respected community trusts, The Lion Foundation funds a wide range of arts, cultural, sporting, educational and health focused causes, by distributing back to the local community the funds raised through its gaming venues in South Auckland.

Mangere Bridge Playcentre says The Lion Foundation’s support is invaluable in the renovation project.

“We are committed to ensuring our children are happy, developing skills and safe, and play is extended.

“Thanks to generosity of The Lion Foundation, we are able make the required changes to meet the Ministry of Education’s standards and continue to provide families in the Mangere areas with a world of challenges and opportunities at Mangere Bridge Playcentre.”
