Investigation commenced into work place death in Motueka

MOTUEKA

 At about 800am on Saturday the 19th September 2009 Emergency Services were called to the business premises of Quaystone on Batchelors Ford Road in MOTUEKA.

There a worker had died after slabs of Granite had fallen on him as he was attempting to unload them off the deck of a truck.

The deceased is a Raymond HIBBS aged 55 years of Motueka.

Staff at QUAYSTONE and the family of the deceased is being supported by Motueka Victim Support

An investigation has been commenced by Police and the Department of Labour to determine the cause of his death. The investigation is expected to take some time and there will be no further Media release until this has been completed.
