Man charged after double road death

A man has been charged following the death of two people in a road crash on SH1 north of Waiouru on Sunday, 4 April.

Haina Gladys Stewart, aged 48, who was the front seat passenger in one vehicle, died along with 19-year-old Abdullah Aldousari, who was the front seat passenger in another vehicle.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and four charges of dangerous driving causing death.

The matter will be called in the Hamilton District Court on Wednesday, 12 May 2010.
