WELLINGTON CITY

Do you feel well prepared for emergencies? Just visit our stall at the Home and Garden Show this weekend (8 - 10 October) where the Wellington Emergency Management Office will give you advice on how to prepare for an emergency.

The Council stall will also have an outdoor gardening section. With 2010 being the year of biodiversity, experts will be on hand with helpful tips on how to encourage native wildlife to your garden and you can attend a talk on 'nature in your neighbourhood' at 2.00pm each day.

Tips and tricks will be given on 'greening' gardens with composting, worms, water conservation, mulching and more. There will also be advice on smarter and more efficient use of water and on reducing, reusing and recycling waste.

Building Consent advisors will also be on hand if you are considering making some changes to your home.
So come along and find out everything from being prepared to changing washers on taps and turning even the smallest garden into a native wildlife haven.

We've arranged a great 25% discount offer for Wellington residents.

Print the voucher from our Featured Events listing at http://www.wellington.govt.nz/services/events/index.html, bring it to the ticket box and receive a two for $15 discounted entry.
