Male activities - Motueka

At about 700pm on Monday Evening the 2nd of May 2011 a woman living in Tudor Street MOTUEKA was disturbed while taking a shower. A male has entered the address through an unlocked door. The male is described as approximately 170 to 180cms in height. He was wearing a long sleeved blue shirt like a bush shirt with dark blue and light blue check print. Lighter green shorts without the shirt tucked in. These were about knee length. Running shoes and socks. He was of solid build and had a tanned look. The woman was unable to give an approximate age or describe his facial features but believed he was younger. When she has confronted him he has run from the address in an unknown direction. It is believed this person has stolen a red Samsung cell phone from the address.

At about 800pm that evening in Grey Street a male has been disturbed looking through a bathroom window where the female occupant of the address was. He has run off from the address after being seen by her husband. He has headed south down Grey Street. There he has attempted to get on to a pale blue Recruit BMX style bike. He has come off the bike and taken off on foot. Police have recovered the bike which was reported stolen from a Greenwood Street address over the past week. The male disturbed from the Grey Street address is of a similar description of the male disturbed at Tudor Street and believed to be the same person.

The occupants of both addresses were uninjured but disturbed by the type of behaviour.

It is possible that someone has seen this bike being ridden around Motueka or may recognise the description of the person disturbed. It was raining steadily during these times and the person would have become wet and may have returned home afterwards wet as well.

Police are taking these incidents seriously and are asking the public to help to identify and locate this person. Residents are advised to take security precautions such as locking doors, securing windows and looking out for any unusual behaviour or suspicious activity. Should they do so they are asked to contact Police immediately no matter the time of day or night.
