20 year old Kapiti man charged in connection to stabbing incident

A 34 year old Paraparaumu man has been treated in Wellington Hospital for stab wounds following an incident in the early hours of this morning.

Detective Sergeant Ian Martin, officer in charge of the Kapiti CIB says Police were called to a Spackman Cresent house around 3am, where the victim had received stab wounds to his arm, legs and hand as a result of an altercation.

"The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated and discharged. His injuries were not life threatening."

A 20 year old Paraparaumu man has been charged with wounding with intent and will be appearing in the Porirua District Court later this afternoon.

Detective Sergeant Martin says enquiries into the incident are continuing, however Police are not looking for anyone else in connection to it.
