The exhibition Bay Proud: A Century of Bay of Plenty Rugby was developed for Rotorua Museum and will open on Saturday 13 August.

Curated by rugby expert Malcolm Mullholland, the exhibition explores six main themes, including pioneers, Bay of Plenty All Blacks and Black Ferns, Māori rugby, sevens, clubs and victories.

These stories provide a valuable insight into the history of Bay of Plenty rugby, showcasing photos and unique memorabilia from 38 rugby clubs that have contributed to a century of pride, passion and triumph.

Mr Mullholland says the exhibition also highlights the significant contribution the Bay has made to rugby, not only nationally, but internationally.

"The Bay has such a proud and valuable past which, through this exhibition, we can share with the world.

"The administrators, players and supporters, that make Bay of Plenty rugby what it is, are all honoured."

Bay Proud is on display at Rotorua Museum from 13 August until 4 December.

Entry to the exhibition is included with admission to the Museum, which is free for Rotorua residents with proof of residency.
