Life Flight's Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports a Patient from a Truck accident in Tuturumuri

At 6:20 pm yesterday evening the Life Flight Trust transported a Accident Patient from Tuturumuri in the Wairarapa.

Life Flight responded with a Wellington Free Paramedic on board the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

The accident happened on a forestry road. The single occupant of the truck suffered head and neck injuries after the truck he was driving rolled onto its side.

Due to the location of the accident the Helicopter had to land a couple of Kilometers from the crash site. The Paramedic was transported to the scene via four wheel drive.

On arrival of the Paramedic at the crash site the patient had been removed from the cab of the truck and being treated by the local ambulance service. Once assessed the patient was transported to the waiting helicopter.

The patient a 66yr old male from Drury was flown to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being further assessed.

The Life Flight Trust is a charity providing air rescue and air ambulance services. It operates the Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a national air ambulance service.
