19 year old man charged in connection to Masterton serious assault

Wairarapa Police have charged a 19 year old gang member in connection to a serious assault in Queen Street on Monday afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Hansen, officer in charge of the Wairarapa CIB says the 19 year old is facing a charge of robbery and another of injuring with intent to injure in relation to the incident, which occurred around 4:45pm on Monday, leaving the 21 year old victim in hospital with injuries, including a broken jaw.

"The 19 year old will be appearing in the Masterton District Court this afternoon. Further enquiries into the incident are continuing."
