Major Takes out the Opposition - Wairarapa A&P Show

Doug Isaacson and Major Brown blitzed the field in the horse grand prix at the one star Wairarapa A&P Show today (Sunday).
The Dannevirke duo were one of six combinations from the 14 starters to go through to the second round over the Neil Thorburn (Dannevirke) designed course.
Second-placed Claire Wilson (Waipukurau) and Alaric II were 1.21 seconds behind the winning team, but only a smidgen ahead of third placed Shaun Fannin (Hastings) on Strathcarron Zaurak.
The third placing wrapped up a brilliant show for Fannin, who was also third in the young rider classes aboard Strathcarron Zaurak, and second in the pony grand prix on Sir Samson.
In the pony grand prix there was nothing between winner Kalah McKay (Levin) on Kabo So Far and runner-up Fannin on Sir Sampson.
The two combinations were part of a five-strong jump-off from the 10 starters. Both went double clear with McKay stopping the clock just .55 of a second faster.
The three day show attracted excellent entries in the showjumping classes.
