Lease agreement brings new jobs to Hamilton

A lease agreement between Hamilton City Council and AA Insurance Limited will bring up to 80 new jobs to the city.

The agreement will see AA Insurance lease the third floor of the BNZ Building at 354 Victoria Street from 1 January 2012 for a call centre, which will employ up to 80 staff.

The BNZ Building is one of the investment assets of Council’s Municipal Endowment Fund.

Hamilton Mayor Julie Hardaker said: “This is great news for Hamilton and the CBD. The city has attracted a significant tenant in AA Insurance, bringing with it new jobs to the central city.”

The lease has an initial term of three years, with two rights to renew of three years each. AA Insurance will fit out the premises prior to lease commencement.

Last week AA Insurance was named as New Zealand’s best workplace at the 2011 JRA Best Workplaces Survey Awards, winning the Overall Award and Large Company category.
