WAIRARAPA

Wairarapa Police want help from the public to recover ten wheels stolen from a large rural irrigator in a recent burglary in South Wairarapa.

Officer in charge of the Wairarapa Police Crime Control Unit (CCU) Sergeant Mike Sutton says, "The burglary occurred overnight on Monday 21 November and it's an unusual burglary because the wheels could only really be used for this type of equipment. In this case the irrigator is 580 metres long."

Sergeant Sutton says the wheels were taken from an irrigator close to the East West Access Rd in South Wairarapa and the offenders would have required a truck with a hi-abb to lift the wheels.

"If anyone knows who is responsible for the burglary or has information about where stolen items are, we urge you to contact Wairarapa Police CCU on (06) 370 3555 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
