GREYMOUTH

At 11.09am Police were advised of a boat on fire out at sea  from Greymouth on the West Coast.
Local fishing boats, the coastguard and the  rescue helicopter were dispatched to assist.

The fire was brought under control by those on board. The boat is currently being towed back to Greymouth port by another fishing boat. The fire service are on standby at the wharf awaiting its arrival and to give assistance.

Nobody on board was injured.

Nothing further is known at this time, until the boat arrives back at port.
