Male stabbed

Police can confirm an eighteen year old Taumarunui man was stabbed once to the upper chest with a large knife. The knife in bedded into the mans chest.

He was rushed to hospital by friends where urgent medical assistance was given.

The man was flown to Waikato Hospital where he under went surgery and the knife was removed. He is currently in a stable condition at Waikato Hospital.

An 18 year old Taumarunui male has been arrested in relation to this incident He is currently held in custody. He is to appear in the Taumarunui District Court on Monday facing charges in relation to the stabbing.
