The future of Cuba Street will be under the spotlight over the next week as an exhibition showing how the street could look in 2035 opens to the public.

Students from Victoria University's School of Architecture have been working on concept plans showing how Cuba Street's heritage buildings could be earthquake-strengthened, and an overall design concept for the street.

The fourth-year students developed plans for 70 buildings as part of the project, which was supervised by practising structural engineers and architects, and supported by the Council and the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

You can view the exhibition at Victoria University Schools of Architecture and Design, 139 Vivian Street, from 9 - 5pm on weekdays
