Radio Sport has launched a new smartphone app for iPhone and Android.

The new app features the latest sport news and live streaming of the station’s programmes and commentaries.

It also provides users the ability to have their say on sporting issues via phone, text message, email, Facebook and Twitter.

“This is a great development for Radio Sport and is another step forward for our online content after re-launching our website late last year,” said online editor Edward Swift.

“Users will now be able to listen to the top sporting opinions of the country wherever they are while keeping up to date with the latest news.”

More features for the iPhone and Android apps are in development for version two, which is due out towards the end of the year.

The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play or here for links http://www.radiosport.co.nz/listen/mobile/
