Silo Park is excited to announce the second event in the Silo Sessions series – Silo Sessions curated by Laneway Festival on Saturday 26 January, from 12pm – 6pm.

This very special edition of Silo Sessions will take place just two days before the much-anticipated Laneway Festival, and will feature an epic line-up curated by the Laneway programming team including SJD, Tigertown (AUS), Ghost Wave, Tom Lark, Sal Valentine & the Babyshakes.

There’s not many better ways to spend the long weekend! Park up at the Silo Park Bar and Markets, grab a bite, and enjoy the free tunes courtesy of Silo Sessions and Laneway Festival.

Christmas at Silo Park
Silo Park is a hive of activity this festive season with the biggest Advent Calendar Auckland has ever seen, the Angel Wings Auckland City Mission appeal and a special Silo Cinema Christmas edition.

Waterfront Auckland is teaming up with local businesses to bring Silo Park in Wynyard Quarter to life with a 12 metre high Advent Calendar that features 25 images including artwork by New Zealand artist Dick Frizzell.

Visitors to Silo Park can also support the Auckland City Mission this Christmas by donating and receiving a pair of Angel Wings.  People are then invited to write a special message on the wings and add them to a spectacular, giant canopy. Furthermore, all profits from popcorn sales during December will go to the Auckland City Mission.

And finally, Silo Cinema Christmas Edition takes place on Friday 21 December, featuring 90’s family classic, ‘Home Alone’. A perfect Christmas outing on the last working day of the year.

January at Silo Park
Those planning their summer holidays will want to take note of the Silo Park January calendar which features an awesome line-up of cinema, markets and music.

Silo Cinema returns on Friday 11 January with ‘Moonrise Kingdom’, a quirky tale of young romance, adventure and trouble making from the genius brain of Wes Anderson. The following Friday 18th sees 80’s epic feature ‘Top Gun’ take to the big screen, and for Anniversary Weekend on Friday 25 January, Silo Cinemas presents ‘The Mayor’s Movie’ – with Auckland Mayor Len Brown selecting one of the most iconic movies of all time, ‘The Sound of Music’, absolute must-view. Silo Cinema fans can grab dinner from the fantastic array of street food-style vendors at the Silo Markets, before settling into this family classic.

And it doesn’t stop there – the February calendar boasts some major highlights including a special Waitangi Day Eve screening of the Bob Marley documentary, ‘Marley’ on Tuesday 5 February, as well as a Valentine’s Day screening of ‘The Princess Bride’ on Thursday 14th February. Full schedule to be released in January.
