The hydrotherapy pool at Hamilton City Council’s Waterworld facility will be closed from 22 December to 26 December.

The pool will undergo an energy audit to determine how operating costs can be reduced. It will reopen at 6am on 27 December. The entire Waterworld complex will be closed on Christmas Day, 25 December.

In addition to the energy audit Council staff advise the acoustic roof tiles above the main pool and 25m pool require fixing – possibly due to humidity issues - and Council’s insurance company is investigating.

Netting has been put up as a precaution against any of the tiles falling off while investigations are underway.

When Council knows what the decision from insurers is,  and when we have an estimate on costs to fix this problem, we will issue a media advisory updating you on this.
