The search for the 13 year old missing boy has now progressed to the second stage of the Search and Rescue process, Body Recovery. Analysis of where to target is now underway and Police are working with experts to assess the situation.

The Navy are providing assistance by supplying Remis, a torpedo type device that is programmed to swim unattended along the sea bed. The Remis will scan in a 3D format and photograph the area that it is swimming along. This process can take up to five hours, once completed all information is downloaded. It will identify if a body is on the sea bed and also its exact location. Police Divers will then be called in to search the area and surrounding area.

The Remis are in the water now alongside a Police Boat (Rib).

Yesterday the search was suspended around 15.00hrs. The Westpac helicopter and Coastguard were both stood down. The weather was also part of the suspension.

Further releases will be made if there is any development.
