Join Hands For Japan an event made on Facebook over a year ago has had its second event today, the event which was in Whitanga home to around 4000 residents went well considering only 4000 people live in Whitanga.

The Join Hands For Japan group based in New Plymouth created an event last year to create donations for Save The Childrens Japan.

"Join Hands For Japan" 2012 was held in New Plymouth Coastal Walkway and managed to get 700+ people to join hands for this great cause. $6000 donations was collected for Save the Children Japan to help the children in need that lost so much.

This year the event had around 130 people attend, Wai taiko drummers were there to mark the occasion, along with some other Japanese cultural activities.

Join Hands For Japan is a yearly event to help create donations for 'Save The Children' Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in 2011 in North East Japan.
