London Governance Guru, Academic Innovator, and Drummer join the TEDxQueenstown lineup

Love and Integrity in Business, Rhythm as the Pulse of Life and the future of tertiary education are subjects that join an already exciting conversation at TEDxQueenstown the NEXT adventure, to be held on April 5.

Oonagh Harpur  has inhabited boardrooms since becoming CEO of a £20m business in 1988. There she got the idea she called “Love and Integrity in Business”.and began exploring what this idea might mean. From 1997 she campaigned for enterprise with integrity across the UK as CEO of the Institute of Director’s HUB Initiative, then Enterprise Insight. In 2002 she put her ideas into practice in a £1+bn global business, learning first hand what it took to integrate values into the culture of 25+ offices from Hong Kong and Shanghai to Dubai and New York.  Oonagh offers an exciting and clearly articulated way forward for business and governance.

As the music and news industries struggle to innovate viable business models, educator Steve Henry takes a close look at tertiary institutions and suggests they have much work to do as they face those now familiar threats. After 30 years motivating those who are willing to learn, he notes the greatest success happens when people learn through experience of real projects, something few tertiary institutions enable in ‘business as usual’. Those who can provide real experience combined with knowledge and reflection will do best and those who stick with the traditional models will struggle as technology enables learning to be delivered away from campuses, anywhere, anytime. He will show how this thousand year old industry is on the cusp of profound change

Can we connect people through Rhythm, the pulse of life?  That’s the question posed by musician John Boone whose award winning,  interactive percussion business operates mostly in the corporate events industry. John has brought together his experience with theatre and music and to create Rhythm Interactive, which has delighted thousands of people of all ages throughout Australasia and Asia,

These three speakers join Lonely Planet’s Tony Wheeler, Filmmaker/skier Mathurin Molgat, Extreme adventurer Chuck Berry, Te Reo Maori teacher Jeromy von Riel and Scientist Ella Lawton for TEDxQueenstown - the next adventure - to be held at Hilton Queenstown on April 5.  Tickets (limited to just 100) are only available from 1-night.  They go on sale on March 22 at 10am.
