Flight Training Manawatu Opens Enrolments for the NZ Diploma in Aviation 2014

Students looking to gain aqualification in the aviation industry in New Zealand can now do so with a Diploma in Aviation from Flight Training Manawatu.The New Zealand Diploma in Aviation, which is tutored by qualified instructors, has been designed to provide training for both Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot Licences.


Flight Training Manawatu’s Professional Pilot Training course comprises of full time training from first solo to commercial pilot license then specialising in your choice of three diploma strands.  After successful completion of the first year of the Diploma in Aviationstudents gain both a private pilot licence (PPL) and a commercial pilot licence (CPL). The second year of training provides a choice of three different strands of aviation which gives an opportunity to focus on the preferred area in the aviation industry. The NZ Diploma in Aviation is approved and accredited by NZQA. Enrolments are now open for 2014 with student allowances and student funding availablefor NZ students .This diploma is also available for international students on application.  


Formally known as Fielding Aviation, the name was changed to Flight Training Manawatuin 2003 to better match the operation which takes place today.  It is located in the Manawatu district at the Fielding Aerodrome. This is an ideal location for training because Wanganui Airport, Palmerston North International Airport and Ohakea  Airbase are all close by which creates a busy learning environment.This provides students with a unique learning environment featuring multiple navigation aids. The varied geography of the local area also gives trainee pilots an extraordinary variety of flyingexperiences.

Flight Training Manawatu has experience in training aviation students for over 20 years. It purposely keeps class sizes small so students have individual attention and training from the instructors.  This allows students to attain a high level of skills in both theoretical and practical aspects of aviation which prepares students well for examinations and give students’ maximum airtime. Students currently use 3 Cessna 172’s,6 Cessna 152's and a Partenavia light twin flight training aircraft. There is a large emphasis on safety with the recent introduction of a comprehensive safety management system (SMS).
Flight Training Manawatu provides a good foundation for graduates to begin their career in aviation. Graduates are sought after and go on to careers such as instructors and airline pilots.
