We’re all privy to the horrific events that have recently taken place in the Philippines. And living so far away, we feel as though our potential to assist is limited. But, thanks to Botany Town Centre, locals will be given a chance to support those affected by the floods, while learning a little about the culture.

This Thursday, 5 December, Botany Town Centre in association with the Red Cross is hosting a Christmas appeal event which is to be filled with performances by local Filipino stars. All proceeds raised will go directly to those most affected by the floods.

The concert will include entertainment in the forms of folk dancing and choirs, and will feature both contemporary and traditional Filipino music. Local Filipino talent such as the Tamase Sisters, the Mercado kids and quartet, and the Rante Boys will perform a dance number. Plus, well-known jazz singer Jacqueline Baldwin will also make an appearance.
