World First – Pizza Delivered By Bungy

In Britain they’ve delivered pizza by drone, and now a global pizza giant has gone to new lengths with its New Zealand customer service, delivering the first pizza ever by bungy to celebrate the Company’s 600th store opening.

Domino’s has opened its 600th store in Queenstown and to celebrate the milestone in the tourist capital, the company has achieved a world first – a pizza delivered by bungy. Scott Bush, Domino’s New Zealand General Manager says he couldn’t think of a better way to mark the significant store opening than a bungy pizza delivery.

“Queenstown is one of the world’s premium adventure tourism capitals, so we wanted to mark the opening of the Queenstown store by doing something that paid homage to the region’s daredevil ethos and reflect the Domino’s brand in a way that was fun.”

The adventurous delivery took place at the AJ Hackett Kawarau Bridge Bungy on December 10 and saw a Domino’s pizza delivery worker take the plunge and deftly deliver a pizza to tourists waiting in a jetboat below.

Domino’s Queenstown has now officially opened its doors, marking the milestone of the 600th Australasian store to be opened by Domino’s.

Bush says the new store has been extremely well received by locals and tourists alike.

“We’re excited to offer both locals and travellers access to their favourite pizza brand every night of the week and people certainly seem excited to have us in the region – the store has been humming,” he says.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited was Australia’s first publicly-listed pizza company and is a master franchisor for the Domino’s Pizza brand in Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Japan. Domino’s and its franchisees have more than 1,200 stores across six countries, employing more than 21,000 part-time and full-time staff and making more than 60 million pizzas each year.
