It’s official – Tayla Alexander’s dreams are coming true. The young Auckland soprano has already achieved record-breaking milestones, all before reaching her ‘teens’. With two new singles on iTunes, several American radio stations regularly playing her music, and a feature on Disney Channel, Tayla Alexander is staking her claim as one to watch.

Disney Channel Australia and New Zealand recently approached Alexander to film This Is Who I Am, which, as of December 6, 2013, has been a regular feature on the channel. Popular amongst tweens and teens, the This Is Who I Am segment follows Alexander’s daily routine and outlines why the hard-working tween has had such success at the tender age of twelve.

Tayla is grateful to Disney Channel for not only featuring her, but for giving the classical genre itself some exposure.

“I had so much fun filming with Disney – it was a real dream come true! It’s not often that classical crossover artists feature on platforms such as this, so I really appreciate Disney Channel shining some light on the classical music genre.”

Alexander, who receives regular tutelage from renowned soprano, Dame Malvina Major - recently released two new records, both of which are available for digital download. The singles Hallelujah, originally by Leonard Cohen and You Needed Me, originally by Anne Murray were produced by Mike McCarthy.

Roger Marbeck of Marbecks says, “Tayla’s captivating voice could easily be mistaken for someone ten years older. She truly is the next great young soprano to come from New Zealand.”

With recent performances on TVNZ’s Good Morning, at the AIMES Awards, an upcoming charity performance in Canada next year and singing at The New Zealand Pops Concert on 27 April, 2014, Tayla is well on the way to realising her dreams.
