New Zealand’s premier residential real estate company has lured one of Australasia’s best sales mentor, trainer and recruiter to its senior management team to lead the business in its next stage of growth.
Mary Sharp, a leading sales trainer, mentor, respected public speaker and author, joins New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty as South Island Sales Manager based at its Queenstown head office.
New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty’s co-owners Julian Brown and Mark Harris said the company was “extremely privileged and honoured” to have someone of Mary’s stature and experience to lead the sales team.

“Mary’s approach to coaching and mentoring is world class and she’s known throughout Australasia as the best trainer in sales techniques, leadership and management mentoring,” said Mr Harris.

“Mary will be a key part of our management team and will assist us and our North Island Sales Manager, Camron Meade, to lead the business as we focus on maintaining high standards of professionalism within our team.”

Over the last 10 years Mrs Sharp, 64, has concentrated on imparting her extensive knowledge and expertise to real estate agents throughout Australasia including most recently training and developing Barfoot and Thompson’s 1,400 strong sales team.

She has not only trained, but has also mentored, many people from agents to managers and franchise owners.

“Mary has recruited and coached some of the best in the industry, enabling them to have successful careers in real estate, and some of those have been recognised as the top talent within Australasia,” said Mr Brown.

“We pride ourselves on attracting the best sales agents in the country and take great pleasure in ensuring our team works within real estate guidelines and also provides exceptional customer service to buyers and sellers alike.

“Mary’s a great addition to the team and we’re very excited to see her in action and learn from her wealth of experience.”

Mrs Sharp’s exceptional business career spans over 30 years -- she has successfully owned businesses from fashion to food to sales and marketing, as well as having a rewarding career in real estate.

During the last 10 years, she has been training and mentoring throughout Australasia in all facets of business and has written two successful publications - A Real Estate Agents Guide to Wealth and Success Made Easy..

Relocating to Queenstown with her husband Peter, Mrs Sharp said she was “incredibly excited” to join the team and “relished the opportunity to work with one of most well-respected brands in the world”.

“Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places in the country and opportunities to work in this stunning town are extremely rare. Peter and I see this as a huge adventure and we’re already blown away with the spectacular scenery and the amazing homes we’ve seen,” she said.

“I can’t wait to work with the team and enable them to become even more exceptional salespeople, leaders and managers.

“The Sotheby’s International Realty brand is synonymous with high standards and exceptional marketing and service. My aim is to ensure this ethos is reflected in the team that represents the brand, providing exceptional and consistent service within the industry.

“Real estate has become a sought-after career for many young people entering the workplace and those in the corporate world seeking a change. With recent changes to the REAA and a strong focus on compliance there’s an increased desire by most to see real estate perceived as a serious and professional career path.
“My role is to promote and maintain these high standards of professionalism to ensure the New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty team is held in the highest regard within the real estate industry.”

Joining the Queenstown sales team with Mary is husband Peter Sharp, a skilful licensed realtor who has over 15 years’ experience of selling premium property.
