QUEENSTOWN

Seven-year-old Cara Quinn satisfied her passion for zipping and all things adrenalin when she completed her fourth ‘zip’ with Queenstown’s Ziptrek Ecotours as part of her birthday celebrations.

Cara, who turned seven, is a self-confessed “zipping addict” and possibly the world’s youngest “adrenalin junkie”.

The Quinn family split their time between their home in Dalefield on the outskirts of Queenstown and Dubai, known as the adrenalin capital of the Middle East.

Cara loves the activity so much she zips with Ziptrek Ecotours every time she visits Queenstown and now has her own zipline in the backyard of the family’s Dalefield home.

Cara has only ever zipped commercially with Ziptrek Ecotours and the zip was a present from her father John who joined Cara for some quality “father-daughter” time zipping through the trees on the Moa 4-Line Tour.

Ziptrek Ecotours sales and marketing manager Nicky Busst said it was “fantastic and inspiring” to see Cara enjoying the Ziptrek experience so much at such a young age.

“She’s certainly addicted to zipping, so much so she’s now got one in her backyard. Cara told us she loves climbing and being outdoors which is why she keeps returning to Ziptrek,” she said.

“She’s also a ‘dab hand’ at some of the more advanced zipping styles, especially upside down.”

John and Cara kindly invited the Ziptrek Ecotours guides to come and try out their backyard zipline “anytime they wanted”.

“Cara’s a real little tomboy, into the outdoors and getting active,” said Mr Quinn.

“She’s a complete adrenalin junkie and even parachuted at the age of three-and-a-half.

Cara’s crazy adrenalin activities include the iFLY in Dubai where you’re suspended without gravity in an enclosed chamber.

“Between Queenstown, the ‘Adventure Capital of the World’ and Dubai, the ‘Adrenalin Capital of the Middle East, there’s lots on offer, yet Cara still loves zipping the most.”

Cara has experienced the Ziptrek tour so many times she even knows the company’s sustainability story and was quick to point out the differences this time compared to her last ‘zip’.

“We may well have a future Ziptrek guide in the making with Cara,” joked Mrs Busst.
