LAMPRE-MERIDA did not complete the hat trick in Challenge Mallorca, missing the victory in Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana.

On a quite demanding course, the best blue-fucshia-green at the arrival was Cunego (photo Bettini), 17th, but sport directors trio Pedrazzini-Matxin-Marzano could enjoy the performance of the team, that was relevant for what concerns the group spirit and the team work.

The race was won by Kwiatkowski, who escaped with Henaio from the group in the final downhill, after that LAMPRE-MERIDA had completed the chase of a six men breakaway.

Sport director Pedrazzini explained that: "After two victories in a row, we knew it would have been very difficult to hit the target again, especially because the opponent teams would have given us the duty of controlling the race.

So it was when we had to chase, with the support of Team Sky, the breakaway of the six riders. I really appreciated the support that riders such Horner and Cunego gave to the team: they worked in an intense way, knowing that this efforts could be useful in their path to the high competitiveness level they'll reach in view of their main appointments.

In the final downhill we missed the chance to compete for the victory when our key riders, Ulissi and Rui Costa, did not find the proper position in the bunch".
