International exercise phenomenon hits Wellington!

Global exercise brand Xtend Barre has arrived in New Zealand with its first free standing studio opening in Wellington on 27 March 2014.
Utilising a ballet barre and combining the principles of dance and Pilates this muscle shaping and fat burning multi-level exercise method safely reshapes the entire body in a non-impact work out.
Designed by Andrea Rodgers, the first studios opened in Hollywood and Sydney, attracting a celebrity crowd.  Since then, the free standing studios have popped up all over the world and now in Wellington New Zealand.
Franchise holder of Xtend Barre Wellington is ex Australian Ballet and Royal New Zealand Ballet dancer and Pilates instructor Cat Eddy.

South African born Cat began her dancing career at the age of 6 and completed her dance training at The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne, Australia.  After six years with The Australian Ballet company an invitation to join the Royal New Zealand Ballet brought her to New Zealand where she studied to become a Pilates instructor and in 2011 set up the Courtenay Place studio– The Mat Class.

Cat completed her Xtend Barre instructor training in May 2013. She found that her expertise in dance and Pilates complimented the Xtend Barre system perfectly and jumped at the opportunity to open the first New Zealand Xtend Barre franchise in Central Wellington. In addition, International director of Xtend Barre, Rockell Williamson has sought out Cat through her reputation as an instructor and dancer to be the Xtend Barre Instructor trainer for New Zealand.

Designed for all levels of fitness, each class focusses on using the body’s own weight to strengthen, sculpt and chisel all muscle groups resulting in defined abdominals, toned arms and improved posture.

“You do not need to be an expert ballerina or a Pilates enthusiast to enjoy Xtend Barre.  There is nothing else of this quality available in NZ and I am so excited to bring this international brand to Wellington. Not only do our Xtend Barre clients look great, they feel great from the inside out and have seen positive changes in all aspects of their lives ” says owner of Xtend Barre Wellington, Cat Eddy

Xtend Barre Wellington opens on Monday 24 March with a new client introductory offer of 2 weeks unlimited classes for $49.

The studio is located on the top floor of 8 Ebor street, just off Tory Street close to the convenience of Courtenay place and the popular Moore Wilsons in Wellington.
