Pantene Beautiful Lengths Says Thank You for 10,000 Ponytail Donations Received

Leading hair care brand Pantene has today announced an incredible 10,000 ponytails have been donated across New Zealand and Australia as part of the Beautiful Lengths campaign, to help support women living with cancer.

The Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign, in partnership with the charity Look Good Feel Better, aims to inspire Kiwis to grow, cut and donate their hair to be turned into real-hair wigs for women undergoing cancer treatment.

Now in its second year, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has seen hair donations taking place across New Zealand and Australia with women, men and children all pledging to cut off their ponytails for the Beautiful Lengths cause. During Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths National Donate Your Hair Week in November 2013, thousands of ponytails were donated in New Zealand and Australia.

Wig recipient, Janette, says “As one of the fortunate recipients of a Pantene Beautiful Lengths wig, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of Pantene and of the unselfish ponytail donations by women and girls (and a few men!) I wish to thank them for helping me during this difficult and emotional time.”

General Manager of Look Good Feel Better, Clare O’Higgins, says the charity is delighted with Pantene’s announcement of 10,000 ponytail donations across New Zealand and Australia thanks to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign.

“The donation of 10,000 ponytails is an incredible result for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign and just goes to show the extent to which Kiwis are behind women living with cancer,” says O’Higgins.

“A real-hair wig can make a huge difference in helping women with cancer to retain a part of their identity and giving them an uplifting sense of confidence within themselves.”
