MEDIA ADVISORY
Minister for Social Development Paula Bennett will welcome delegates to the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA) International Conference in Queenstown this Wednesday.
The 2014 conference will examine the core issues around the future of recruiting and the nature of work in Australasia.
The RCSA is the leading industry body for talent management and workforce solutions in New Zealand and Australia. With more than 3,300 corporate and individual members, the Association sets professional standards, conducts research, educates and develops members’ skills, monitors industry development and lobbies Government on issues directly affecting members. Up to 300 member delegates from Australia and New Zealand will be attending the conference.
Ms Bennett will be present at the conference Wednesday evening and will address attendees at the welcoming reception, to be held at the AJ Hackett Kawarau Bungy Centre – the birthplace of this unique Kiwi adventure activity and a mecca for new Zealand’s burgeoning adventure tourism industry, an essential sector of an industry that employs more than 110,000 New Zealanders.
Her speech will focus on employment outcomes: creating new pathways to employment, improving outcomes for jobseekers and the Government’s welfare reforms and the difference they are making from a New Zealand perspective.
On Thursday day the RCSA will make its own announcement of a new initiative aimed specifically at employment issues affecting young people and setting out the industry’s commitment to acting for positive change.
